Grounds for Divorce
In order to obtain a divorce you will need to show to the court that your marriage has broken down irretrievably. You can rely on one of five facts listed below to prove this:
1. Your husband or wife has committed adultery and you find it intolerable to live with them.
2. Your husband or wife has behaved in such a way that you can not be reasonably expected to live with them
3. Your husband or wife has deserted you for a continuous period of at least two years or more
4. You have lived separately from your husband or wife for a period of two or more years and you both agree to the divorce
5. You have lived separately from your husband or wife for a period of five or more years.
